Brando... AMAZING. The men of today have rings in their nose, eyebrows, and ears, tight shorts, worried for hours about the LIKES on their Facebook account AND thinking of their next tattoo to fill up the arm.

Marlon Brando was not just an actor that's why his touches on that art taught at my university ..not too many actors are treated as scientist. .Chaplin and Brando converted acting into art

There is no more late night talk show hosts..just a bunch of clowns with bad material and they keep repeating their bad material.. unbelievable!! I watch carson and letterman and maybe leno reruns..I think brando is a nut case but most actors are that's why they are starving for attention..I enjoy watching them..I would not do what they do for any amount of money because I love my privacy but I also love to move around in society un- noticed. The world is a stage and the people are the best actors..I love to people watch and interact sometimes.. 🤔🤔😂🤗

It was a day when people had passion about things that mattered. Today people won't wear a mask to protect thos around them. Back then we cared about Vietnamese who were being killed; we cared about those troops who were dying, so much so we died on college campuses and were beaten in the streets of Chicago and Selma; we were horrified at the assassinations; leaders set up things like the Peace Corps and put US together in schools, restaurants and events; we cared. It's hard to see the selfishness and avarice that, in a few short years, became what we are today. It was the assassination of King and others that took away conscience and has brought US back to the brink of destruction.

Curious that the idea of micro aggressions existed even then. He went from talking about the individual to defining the individual as merely part of a group. Classic well-intentioned Hollywood racist. But still the greatest actor of all time.

Was this the start of high paid people who get great amounts of money for acting, verses the people who are struggling to make ends meet, who would give 1 %,but can't afford to. these people would give their lives, but their lives are dedicated to feeding their own family and maybe their religious beliefs. If they can not afford the sacrafice, does not make them racist.MLKJr was a great man and I beleive in his message, but I don't get a multi million dollar check for my trade. All I can do is be an understanding, careing father to my children and stress that all people are created equal.

Marlon was truly ahead of his time. Sticking up for how terribly the native Americans were treated by the english settlers. Also was part of the civil rights movement. Could u see any Hollywood actor not showing up to the Oscar's & rejecting it today ? When carson gave him a check on the spot it was heartwarming. Also look at brando showing up in a nice suit . Some of them come on looking homeless. This also was really the Time when people needed to fight for black people & natives & womens rights. Today it's just cool to do so ur Hollywood freinds would be impressed. I dont believe any of them really care . I doubt any of them would welcome illegal immigrants to live on their property ever. They want guns taken away from all of us. Not everyone can afford a security team armed to the teeth or have huge gated fences & cameras all over to protect us. Wow its like he is talking about today.

I take issue with the way they go about making change, it's regressive, it's authoritarian and it's dangerous. Dehumanizing people isn't the way to make an change that will last, It's toxic. I'm not a moron, I realize the right dehumanizes people as well, it's a deadly cycle we must end, before it ends us, and make no mistake it will end us. Calm, nuanced conversations about issues don't get them upvotes and dopamine hits though.

Why have we sunk so LOW? The only thing I can think of, and I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, is bigotry and racism . That’s it in a nutshell. Well, so many countries were world powers and then they were not. Someone else took the reins. What we are witnessing is the decline of what’s been our turn as the world’s power. We will no longer be what we once were. Largely thanks to trump and his cowardly cronies. I wonder who will be the next world power ? ? ? Probably China or India. More than likely China. . Trump and the republicans are seeing to that !

I wish I was old enough to have seen this Marlon Brando. It's good to know that every white person who lived back then wasn't racist. It would be nice if there weren't so many white racists alive now, pretending not to be racist while blaming Democrats/affirmative action for everything they don't like. By the time I was old enough to know who he was, he was an old fat guy with an addict son and the tabloids made fun of him and showed pictures of him with no shirt on.

Yes, it's good, and Johnny handles it beautifully. However, when I think of Johnny I think of entertainment, and this is anything but entertaining. No criticism meant, what I miss most about Johnny is the nightly fun he brought into our homes, not his serious interviews. When I think of the latter I think of hosts such as Cavett and Donahue.

A time when a talk show host would actually listen and engage in intelligent and meaningful rapport. While I did not always agree with Brando, the man was intelligent, articulate and was not a mindless progenitor of jingoism. He put his money where his mouth was and unlike most cardboard celebrities today, actually put principles and compassion above his own interests. Brando and Carson: two of the best at what they did.

Unfortunately, his words fit our current situation perfectly in this world at this very moment. Nothing seems to have changed in so many important ways. Brando never gets spoken about in terms of social justice and his part in it. Unusual for his time for actors to be so outspoken about racial injustice.
